During prime 1,2 or 3 you can see into the morph ball and you are not met by an wakward Samus but instead an orb of glowing energy. If nintendo wanted samus to be great at yoga they would either show it or not let you see into the morph ball. The power suit converts her into energy to travel around.

Actually I don't think it tells you as fact anywhere, but you know thats my assumption as there is no canon on it.
